01/04/2022

The Crofting Commission has today, Thursday 31st of March, 2022, met for the first time since elections were held in mid-March; which appointed four new Commissioners and two returning Commissioners.

Members of the public were able to attend the meeting through online participation.

The agenda included updates for Commissioner’s discussion in relation to the digital developments which are occurring at the Commission and trends in regulatory casework;  in addition to items of business which related to the budget and the processes involved in the strategic nature of the Board.

Speaking today, Malcolm Mathieson, Convener of the Crofting Commission said:

“I’m very pleased that our first meeting with our revised membership went well. The discussions this morning were very constructive and it is clear that Commissioners, both returning and new to the board; are determined to see the Commission and the sector in general improve, grow and thrive.”
