Objections/Comments
Objections/Comments
For many applications, the applicant must advertise a public notice in a local paper. This allows the crofting community and other relevant individuals to object or comment on it.
How to object or comment
- Within 28 days of the notice being advertised, any member of the crofting community or any other person we consider has a relevant interest can submit an objection or comment.
- Objections cannot be anonymous.
- You can also view a list of applications we’ve received.
What happens if an application is closed?
If an application is closed, any new or resubmitted application must be re-advertised. Comments or objections relating to the original (now closed) application won’t carry over to the new one. Interested parties will need to resubmit their comments or objections for the new application.
What do we mean by a “crofting community”?
A “crofting community” includes all people who either:
- Live on a croft in a township with at least two crofts registered with us, or
- Hold shares in the common grazings for that township.
