Taking land out of crofting use

If you want to remove an area of your land from crofting use, you must apply to the Scottish Land Court. This is known as resumption.

  • You must inform us about your application. We can choose to support or oppose it.

Right to buy

A tenant crofter is entitled to buy their croft house, garden, part of their croft or all their croft. The Land Court deals with applications and any disagreements.
