Crofting Commission Policy Plan

The Commission publish a policy plan every five years as required by crofting legislation. The policy plan explains how the Commission will carry out its functions. The current policy plan was submitted to Scottish Ministers in December 2022. 

All applicants should read the relevant sections of the Commissions policy plan before submitting an application, as well as any relevant interim policy statements. This will increase the chance of any application being successful and being processed as quickly as possible. 

Crofting Commission Policy Plan 2022-2027

The Commission regularly reviews individual aspects of its policy. Where the Commission has created a more specific policy on a particular topic this is published as an interim policy statement. These interim policy statements compliment and add detail to the main Commission policy plan.
