We have now completed our search for the information you requested and provide the following response: 1a Total number of Board members There are 8 Board members. 1b Women represented on the Board There are 2 women on the Board, representing 25 % of the total. 2a Total number of members of the senior management team There are 6 members of the senior management team. 2b Women represented on the senior management team There are 3 women on the team, representing 50%. 3a Applications received for each recently appointed Board position since 2013, broken down by gender and the gender of the person subsequently appointed. On 1 November 2013 Marina Dennis was appointed as a Commissioner following the resignation of the elected Commissioner, Donald Ross. Ms Dennis had been the second placed candidate in elections to the Board of the Crofting Commission in 2012 and therefore, under the terms of the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 she was appointed by Scottish Ministers. At the election in 2012, there were 4 candidates, 3 of whom were male. Ms Dennis therefore represented 25% of the total. In June 2014 David Campbell was appointed to the Board of the Commission, as one of 3 appointees. The rest of the Board is elected. Mr Campbell’s appointment was handled through Scottish Ministers and the Public Appointments process, rather than by the Commission itself so we do not hold information on the applicants. 4a Applications received for each recently appointed senior management position since 2013, broken down by gender. There has been 1 appointment to the senior management team in this period. The person appointed is male. There were 7 applications to this position, 2 being from women.
