FOI Request: 110880 (EIR)

Division: Serving Crofting

Status: Completed

Request details of the following information, or copies of Crofting Commission documentation that contains such details, under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act, 2002. 1. Any crofting plans submitted for Croft 38 & 39 since 1970. 2. Any applications for non-compliance at Croft 38 & 39 since 1970. 3. Any applications relating to use of Croft 38 & 39 by another member of the crofting community since 1970. 4. Any meeting minutes from the North Ballachulish Grazings Committee detailing items 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 or 7, since 1970. 5. Any applications for de-crofting of part or all of Croft 38 & 39 since 1970. 6. Any sales of land that were previously a part of Croft 38 & 39 since 1970. 7. Any details of land subsidy claims and payments given in regard to the croft land forming Croft 38 & 39 since 1970, and what they were awarded for. 8. Any reports detailing use, misuse or neglect of Croft 38 & 39 since 1970. To clarify the reason for this request - the owner has submitted an application to build a house on land between the A82 trunk road and the shore within a National Scenic Area designation. Not only would this development fundamentally alter the landscape at this location, but his submission includes a statement to the effect that he has crofted the land all his life and now, to more effectively progress with this, a house must be built in a bluebell field. It is the contention of multiple neighbours that the land has remained untouched for decades until help was elicited to cut back the undergrowth 4 or 5 years ago. This issue has the potential to be highly divisive in our community, and so I am seeking evidence that demonstrates the actual working history of Croft 38 & 39 during the last 50 years to better inform a position of support or objection in regard to this planning application.
