Commission reaffirms commitment to crofting

13/05/2015

The Crofting Commission held their first Board meeting today following the resignation of Convener, Susan Walker. The Board thanked Susan for the contribution made during her time with the Commission.

Vice Convener, Colin Kennedy, chaired the meeting and said “The Commission want to wish Susan well and we are grateful for the contribution she has made during her time as both Commissioner and Convener.”

“The next steps for appointing a new Convener is a matter for Scottish Ministers and we will discuss this with the Crofting Minister when we meet her later this month.”

“I would like to assure all crofters that it is business as usual and we will continue to focus on the primary function of the Commission, which is the effective regulation of crofting.”
